NEW YORK, NY – Online display advertising prices will rise to $10 billion in 2009, up 4% from 2008, according to JPMorgan data cited in a January 2008 Advertising Age article.

Competition for the best ad placements should be strong in 2008, with the US presidential campaign creating a surge in demand.

JPMorgan noted that an abundance of inventory, especially on social networks, devalued some ad placements last year.

The investment bank also noted that Yahoo!'s recent $1 billion display ad network enhancements should help it use premium and remnant inventory more effectively.
