Richmond Gets Ready to Welcome Visitors this Spring

RICHMOND, VA – Excitement grows in Richmond as area attractions and museums add new rides and exhibits to the area's already expansive menu of things to do and see. Richmond continues to bring its 5 million annual visitors something for every interest, age and budget.

New Ride at Kings Dominion Soaring to New Heights

Kings Dominion will soar to new heights in 2008 with the introduction of its 14th roller coaster, Dominator. Debuting in late spring, this innovative 4,210-foot steel coaster will be the longest floorless coaster in the world and has the largest roller coaster loop.

Riders will board the coaster and begin their journey with a short, twisted U-turn and then climb the 161 foot-tall lift hill. After the 32 passenger train crests the top of the lift, riders are sent flying down a 157 foot drop, eventually speeding into the gut-wrenching, record-breaking vertical loop. Four additional inversions will follow during Dominator's two minute and six second, adrenaline pumping experience.

Dominator joins a portfolio of Kings Dominion's other 13 industry-leading roller coasters, including Volcano, The Blast Coaster, Flight of Fear, Anaconda, The Grizzly and Rebel Yell.

Nuremburg Trials Exhibit Unveiled at Holocaust Museum

As World War II ended, the Allies were left with the unprecedented job of dispensing justice for atrocities that had no name. Their solution was a series of trials that would eventually form the backbone of modern international law. Collectively known as the Nuremberg Trials, they established the precedent for prosecuting criminals for Crimes Against Humanity and Crimes Against Peace. The Virginia Holocaust Museum recently unveiled the Nuremberg Trials Courtroom exhibit, a new permanent exhibit to pay tribute to those who established these historic principles.
