Celebrate the American Bald Eage in Arkansas

STATEWIDE, AR – Each winter, numerous Arkansas state parks, like Petit Jean State Park near Morrilton, as well as private businesses offer guided trips for eagle viewing. Trips include hikes, lake tours and some van tours. All take bird watchers in easy viewing distance of our national symbol, the American Bald Eagle. Please remember to dress warmly for all activities.

The largest Arkansas festival celebrating the American Bald Eagle and other birds of prey is the Eagles Et Cetera festival at De Gray Lake Resort State Park in Bismarck on January 25-27, 2008.  As the longest running eagle awareness program in the state, this festival has been the park’s signature event since 1979 and includes a wide variety of events like eagle watching lake tours, guided bird walks, owl prowls, live bird demonstrations, slide presentations, games and much more. Lodging and camping facilities are available.

For more information on eagle watching events, visit www.Arkansas.com.
