Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center Continues to Grow in Grapevine, Texas
12-Story Tower Will Add 500 Rooms and 200,000 Sq. Ft. of Meeting Space

GRAPEVINE, TX – Grapevine, Texas, home to the magnificent Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center, continues to be the premier meeting destination in North Texas. The Gaylord Texan Resort is proud to announce its $315 million expansion, slated to be complete in 2010.

The Gaylord Texan Resort currently includes 1,511 guestrooms and 400,000-square-feet of meeting and convention space, and Glass Cactus – an entertainment venue on the shore of beautiful Lake Grapevine. The expansion plan includes a 12-story hotel tower that will extend from the existing resort structure with 500 guestrooms, an additional 200,000 square feet to the Convention Center, and two more levels to the resort parking garage. The project also includes a resort pool and other recreational amenities aimed at the hotel's growing leisure business.

Following the expansion, the resort will offer 2,000 guestrooms and 600,000 square feet of meeting and convention space. Once complete, the Gaylord Texan Resort will be the largest hotel in the state of Texas. This holds true to the saying, “Gaylord Texan Resort pays tribute to everything Texas as only Texas can -- on a grand scale.”

After this expansion, Grapevine will offer over 5,000 world-class hotel rooms and nearly one million square feet of meeting space, making Grapevine the premier meeting destination in North Texas.

The expansion of the Gaylord Texan Resort is expected to bring new and larger convention groups to the Grapevine destination. The expansion is also estimated to bring 500 new resort jobs, as well as hundreds of additional city jobs to Grapevine. The added business that the development will bring will result in positive economic development, increased tax revenue, and further enhancement of the Grapevine destination.
