NEW YORK, NY – Nearly 70% of respondents said fuel prices will not influence where they plan to vacation and 79% said terrorism is not a concern, according to a recent Zogby International survey sponsored by AOL Travel.

However, many Americans are feeling a pinch in the purse. A full 57% feel they have less money to spend this year on summer vacations than they did in 2007, and they are looking to save when it comes to travel.

In order to do so, 33% of respondents are planning to stay with friends or family while 37% plan to drive rather than fly.

The Internet remains integral to booking and planning travel. More than half of those surveyed plan to book all their summer vacation plans on the Internet and 48% said they are influenced by online user reviews of destinations, which help them decide where to stay.
