MYSTIC, CT – This picture is a view of the ships at Mystic Seaport which is a re-creation of an early 19th century New England whaling village. In this picture, you can see the Charles W. Morgan, the world’s last wooden whaling ship.  In the background, you can see Captain’s Row overlooking Mystic River.  River Road in Mystic is known as “Captains Row” since its homes once belonged to whaling captains of the 18th and 19th century.
