TRIPinfo.com's "Traveler Show & Tell" Got a Picture to Show or Story to Tell? We're Interested! Let Us Know. November 12, 2008 Now These Are Some Lucky Ducks!
LITTLE ROCK, AR – Each morning and afternoon during our stay at the Peabody Little Rock, we enjoyed watching The March of the Ducks, a Peabody Hotel ritual. Before 11am, the lobby of the hotel fills with people. The red carpet is rolled out, creating a path from the elevator to the fountain. Meanwhile, the Peabody Little Rock Ducks leave their Royal Peabody Duck Palace and travel by elevator to the hotel lobby with their Duck Master (see inset) who wears a scarlet-and-gold trimmed jacket and carries a brass head duck cane. Arriving to the tune of John Philip Sousa's King Cotton March, the Ducks march on their red carpet, climb three carpeted steps and dive into the fountain water. Our picture shows the ducks playing and napping in their fountain where they spend each day. At 5pm, the ducks march back to their palace for the evening. Copyright 2008 TRIPmedia Group, Inc.
