ANAHEIM, CA – Beginning in spring 2010, Disneyland Resort in Southern California will honor Walt Disney’s vision and legacy with a nighttime spectacle celebrating the magic of Disney’s timeless stories and beloved characters with Disney’s World of Color. The new signature nighttime spectacular will make a huge splash at Disney's California Adventure theme park.

This nightly panorama of spectacular water effects, colorful lighting and music will bring Disney animation to life with an entirely new creative and technical approach. A new 9,000-guest viewing area will offer prime waterside viewing of the show - and also double as a site for live entertainment, music festivals, and outdoor film premieres.

The title of the new show pays homage to the television program "Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color," with a combination of fascinating Disney animation of past and present. Show highlights include a cavalcade of characters living together in a liquid paradise, featuring Ariel, Pocahontas, Crush, WALL-E, Alice, Buzz, Woody and Tinker Bell.

The massive stage Disney’s World of Color will perform upon is actually Paradise Bay, the beautiful body of water which frames the park’s Paradise Pier area. Thanks to Disney’s technical wizardy, the bay will look tranquil by day, but during evening shows it will come alive with high-definition images projected upon water screens, colorful lighting and never-before-used laser effects. Combined with a moving musical score, the show will take guests on a magical journey through Disney’s famed world of animation and artistic storytelling.

Disney’s World of Color will be the latest example of The Walt Disney Company’s significant multi-year expansion for the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. Disney Imagineers are bringing more of Walt Disney, the company’s founder, into Disney's California Adventure, celebrating the hope and optimism of California that attracted Walt to this land of opportunity in the 1920s. Guests entering the park’s new Plaza will be instantly immersed in the world that inspired Walt during his early days as an animation pioneer.

In addition to Disney’s World of Color, the expansive program includes an amazing new Little Mermaid attraction (opening in 2011), and the addition of the 12-acre Cars Land featuring the world of Radiator Springs with three new attractions (opening 2012). Extensive landscaping, new retail and dining will create an even richer environment throughout the park in ways that reinforce Guests' connection with Walt.
