Just Before the Rope Drops

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLORIDA Ð Mickey's faithful gather for the classic Rope Drop, the time when a WDW theme park opens for the day, and are treated to a short, but always amazing fireworks display at the Magic Kingdom. In the seconds following, there is a mad dash to a sought after ride. On this day, we made it to Space Mountain and discovered no waiting time - a miracle since the day before the wait was 120+ minutes. Following that and another quick ride, we made our way to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train where the wait was already 90 minutes, just 20 minutes after the park opened. Tip: If you don't have a fast pass for a ride you really want, get to the park for the Rope Drop. Getting through security is faster, too.
