Georgia's Hottest Hotel Developments for 2018
Over the last few years, Georgia's hotel industry has been on the rise. With 1,845+ lodging properties comprising more than 168,000 hotel rooms, the state's hotel industry continues to expand with numerous new developments, renovations and expansions under way across the state. Here's a glimpse of the hottest hotel developments in Georgia.
The Inn at Barnsley Resort now offers a new way to experience the North Georgia resort. An additional 55 guest rooms and suites brings the resort's total guest room count to 150 accommodations, plus the new Georgia Hall venue is the ideal space for meetings and events.
An InterContinental 4-star hotel is set to be built on the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport campus. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Hotel will be the first hotel within walking distance of the domestic terminal.
Located right outside Atlanta, Great Wolf Lodge is set to provide the ultimate water park experience. With games, attractions and activities throughout the resort, alongside spacious rooms and on-site dining, the now-open resort is sure to please travellers from across the Southeast.
Following a $25 million enhancement, the Lodge at Sea Island will unveil new accommodations and amenities this November. With six new cottages with ocean views, a state-of-the-art Golf Performance Center, oceanfront pool and new putting course, the boutique hotel is getting even better.
Hard Rock International will open a 220-room Hard Rock Hotel Atlanta on Centennial Olympic Park Drive next to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in late 2018. The hotel will include an outdoor swimming pool, rooftop bar and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space.
The Candler Building, one of downtown Atlanta's iconic structures, will be transformed into a Curio Hotel, a luxury brand from Hilton, in late 2018. When completed in 1906 by Coca-Cola magnate Asa Griggs Candler, it was the tallest building in the city. The renovation will convert it into a 265-guestroom hotel.
Spanning an entire block on Savannah's historic River Street, The Alida Hotel will be a seven-story, 173-room luxury accommodation. Set to open in August 2018, the hotel will have 4,000 square feet of meeting space, a signature restaurant, rooftop event space and bar, fitness area, pool and lobby bar. A new grand entranceway also will be built to River Street, providing pedestrians with an easier, safer way to access to the riverfront.
Come late-spring 2018, the Perry Lane Hotel will open in Savannah’s Historic District and will take many architectural elements from the surrounding historic mansions. Food will be a big focus at the new property with its signature restaurant, The Emporium Kitchen & Wine Market, which will serve up house-made charcuterie, artisanal cheeses, freshly baked breads and pastries, and other locally sourced items. Located in the heart of Alpharetta's premier walkable community of Avalon, the Hotel at Avalon and Alpharetta Conference Center puts guests in the middle of the best shopping, dining, working and entertaining district outside of Atlanta. The new property features 330 elegant guest rooms and suites with 44,000 square feet of event space.
