An Aviation History Enthusiasts Dream
BIG SPRING, TEXAS – Inside Hangar 25 Air Museum at Big Spring, Texas — site of the World War II era AAF Bombardier School at former Webb Air Force Base. The large collection of restored training aircraft includes this Beechcraft AT-11. It was used by the Army Air Corps at numerous bombardier training schools across the country from 1942 to 1945. This plane was a military version of the Beechcraft model 18 commercial transport, among 1,600 built. The Hangar 25 collection includes a wide variety of restored training aircraft. It also houses the nose of a B-52 bomber, where visitors can see the numerous vertical ladders required to move around in the tight inside spaces of the huge bomber. Hangar 25 is a must-see stop for aviation history enthusiasts.
