WHITESBURG, GA - Historic Banning Mills Adventure and Conservation Center
was founded in 1998 with a goal of preserving the history of Banning Mills and the beauty of the unique eco system of the Snake Creek Gorge. Working with the Trust for Public Lands and the Upper Chattahoochee River Keepers, the area now has over 1,500 pristine acres preserved in perpetuity. The facility has a historic interpretive center, book and video documentary of the history of Banning Mills, and has preserved many of the town roads, trails and building sites in the Gorge.
Historic Banning Mills offers a variety of outdoor activities including forest tours, zip lines, wall climbing, freefall, camping, horseback riding, nature trails, kayaking, paddleboarding, aerial adventure park, putt putt golf, fishing and more. They are the Guinness Book World Record Holder for The World's Largest Zipline Canopy Tour & Adventure Destination, and Tallest Freestanding Artificial Climbing Wall.
