NEWPORT BEACH, California - Located between the Pacific Coast Highway and the Pacific Ocean, the 2,791-acre Crystal Cove State Park is popular with swimmers, surfers, mountain bikers, hikers, equestrians and artists specializing in landscape paintings. The park includes beachfront restaurants, museums, research facility and the 12.3-acre Crystal Cove Historic District, a National Register of Historic Places site, featuring 46 rustic beach cottages from the 1930s and 1940s. Twenty-one of these quaint cottages have been restored and are popular rental accommodations.
