U.S. Streamlines Global Entry Application Process

Without much fanfare, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency announced a new program to facilitate Global Entry applications.
Enrollment on Arrival, as the program is known, allows Global Entry applicants to complete their interviews upon arrival into the United States without making an appointment at an enrollment center.

Global Entry allows passengers entering the United States to bypass the line for passport control and use a kiosk instead of submitting a paper landing card and interacting with a Customs and Border Protection agent.

The new program is available at 28 airports in the United States as well as at preclearance facilities in Canada at six major airports. At airports with multiple terminals such as New YorkÕs John F. Kennedy, the program is available in terminals 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8, and at San Francisco International in terminals A and G.

To complete the Global Entry process, simply follow signage to a Customs and Border Protection officer who will then conduct the interview. No additional documentation beyond a passport is required.
