Annual Report Highlights Most Efficient Airports in the World

The Air Transport Research Society and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University announced the most efficient airports in the world, with the release of their 20th-annual benchmarking report.

The Airport Transport Research Society and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University have announced the winning airports for the 2021 ATRS Global Airport Efficiency Awards.

The ATRS is a worldwide research network headquartered in the University of British Columbia. The ATRS benchmark project is hosted at Embry-Riddle's David B. O'Maley College of Business, in Daytona Beach, Florida.

"Our goal is to provide comprehensive and unbiased data and analysis in this report," said Benchmarking Project Manager Dr. Chunyan Yu, professor of Air Transport Management at Embry-Riddle. "Efficiency is particularly important for airports now as they recover from the devastating impacts of the pandemic. This year's report featured longtime winners, such as Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta, as well as newcomers, including Eppley Airfield in Omaha and Louis Armstrong New Orleans International, both of which received the awards for the very first time."
