Blue Water, Black Sand
HANA, Maui, Hawaii – Located near the end of the famous Road to Hana in East Maui, this beautiful beach in Wai'anapanapa State Park is known for its black sand, lava tubes and stunning coastal views. Popular beach activities include swimming in the beautiful blue water and snorkeling around the amazing lava tubes. The beach was recently named one of the Top 10 "One of a Kind" Beaches for 2026. This new category of beaches from Tripadvisor identifies beaches offering unique experiences beyond the traditional sun and sand. Reservations to enter the state park are required.
