Going Back to Capistrano

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA - Padre Junipero Serra founded the Mission of San Juan Capistrano on November 1, 1776, the 7th of 9 missions that he built and ultimately one of 21 California missions. The Mission of San Juan Capistrano became the birthplace of Orange County, its oldest community and home to its oldest traditions. Well-known for the swallows who migrate 6,000 miles from Goya, Argentina returning on March 19, the mission and town welcome visitors from around the world to witness the annual event with mission tours, events and the Swallow Parade.

The historic landmark welcomes groups to tour its 10 acres of museums, exhibits, gardens and fountains. The Mission also welcomes corporate and private group events.
